Darius Wave picking technique

So when he demonstrates his technique slowly he really emphasizes the thumb flex. This tells me that his “inefficient” string changing mechanic feels ,to him, like a finger/thumb movement, ala Martin Miller. However, when he speeds things up the thumb flex really isn’t noticeable to my eye. I’m wondering if he unknowingly switches to a more wrist-moving mechanic on those string changes or if he really is still flexing the thumb and I’m missing it. Either way cool video. This dudes a monster!

At slow demonstration speed he is exaggerating the movement, once up to speed it is very small and barely noticeable i think.

Someone send him a magnet!

Wow! I’m watching this lesson and it’s great: like a mini Cracking the Code. He’s covered his arm approach angle (the usual 45°) but also covered Pronation vs Supination in Wrist Position and is covering Pickslanting as well from each one using wrist deviation. No doubt he does 2WPS and Xpicking as well. I look forward to the rest of this video
