@Drew I think Angel Vivaldi and Charlie Robbins have that perfect balance of shred and melody. Plini is up there too.

I think my favourite of their tracks - and they just dropped a bunch of them today, albeit not available in the United States - is Mata Zyklek, because it sounds like the title (which is a phonetic rendition of “motorcycles” in a deep Quebecois accent), it sounds like a motorcycle engine!
I hadn’t brought them up earlier because they’re 24TET and so don’t exactly fit into what we think of as guitar, but this is some of the best music I’ve heard in years and I love it.
