How fast can you go with alternate picking?

Here it is notated with picking, positions and DSX/USX, I moved the slide on 3rd string when descending which makes it more playable. Position shifts are done with the first finger.

Personally I would pick all of it with no slides, the notation in that book is not very descriptive which is typical of a lot of books unfortunately.

I’ll try this out.

I always cought in thinking: If I play the notation otherwise - Am I not skilled enough to play it as it was written?
I think its a thin line, because most books as you said are not very descriptive.
