There are lots of very negative reviews about him on Ultimate Guitar. Some people even claim that he damaged their technique.
Yep. At best I was treading water.
When he crapped all over CAGED…I mean, he was militant about it…I pretty much knew I’d screwed up. “CAGED is limiting for a player…” or some such nonsense.
He’s good at what he does. Except what he does isn’t teaching music.

@jptk and @Ruefus , I’m sure I’d feel the same way as you guys if I had an experience like that. And sorry you both had to go through that. I guess I don’t know good I’ve had it. Troy was the first online teacher I ever checked out and he’s the only one I’ve paid any $ to (money WELL spent in my hugely biased opinion). It sucks there are people there preying upon those who are eager to learn.
And Mike Phillippov said in one of his emails that he has charged up to $2000.00 for a seat at one of his seminars.
Pfffftttt I’d just buy a new guitar before I gave anyone that kind of cash.
