Michael Schenker Solo Cover

Yes, I have a Line 6 UX1 that’s actually really good. Direct into my PC with some monitors for output.

Of course you can use it with headphones as well. As for the chain, it’s virtual, but I just set it up like my physical rig. A head and cab (I use an emulated Marshall JCM) and effects out front, including an OD, Delay/Reverb and a noise suppressor, and I just dial it all in the same as the real thing.

Cool thanks! If you get the chance to post a screenshot of your virtual signal chain it would be great, I also have a st dimas and might be able to get quite close to that sound by copying you

That amp sound incredible

yeah, one of my faves. I have listened to that CD more than any other in my lifetime. (perhaps VH2 in 2nd place)

hands down best combo singer-lead player-writer

Unfortunately I can’t, I don’t even have it set up right now, and I’m not even sure where the disk is for the software. I haven’t used it in a while, and I switched from a desktop that took a dump on me, to a laptop that I have not loaded the software on yet. Ever since I got the Yamaha I’ve been pretty exclusively playing through that and you can go direct into PC with that as well.

It’s a pretty simple chain though. Pick any high-gain head, a 4x12 cabinet, overdrive, reverb/delay and noise gate. An overdive or you could even try a tube screamer, whatever your emulator has available.

I would crank everything up on the gain and then see how it feels and then start to incrementally back it off on both the amp head, and the overdrive, until it continues to feel good, but you can clean up as much of the fizz and bring the gain down as much as you can without losing the tone or the feel. Also adjust the gate as tight as you can without clipping off notes.

Hey, I just picked up a boss super od.
I have running 2nd after my digitexh rp360 in my amps loop.

Any suggestions on the settings?
I primarily use the blue channel on my 5150

Not sure I’d put up it thru the loop, I usually only loop my time-based effects, I’d put it out front. I also have my noise gate out front, I found it didn’t work too well through the loop. I do have a rack-mounted Hush that does go through my loop if I choose to use that in lieu of my pedal. I mean, of course experiment with it, but I run it that way.

As for the OD settings, Level and Tone knobs at 12 o’clock, Drive at 3 o’clock. Hope that helps, let me know how it goes.

I have the RP1 in the loop, it’s the only way its functional. I’ll try plugging it in front and see how it goes.

Thanks!

how many times, the traps are set!

another great one. a little deeper than the avg Schenker song. Michael said his playing was so good on this because he was hypnotized by Simon Phillip’s drumming

That was really controlled, you play very well bro!

You bringing up Friedman gives me GAS.

Hows the amp at bedroom volumes?

Thanks! It sounds great at low volume. It has such incredible sustain and saturation, while still maintaining tremendous clarity and separation at any volume. Most expensive piece of gear I’ve ever purchased, but well worth every penny.

Ha ha… I did get a good deal on it through Sweetwater. 3 years to pay it off, no interest, no tax, delivered right to my door.

I’m done paying for it next month.

Have you ever played a Mark V 90 watter?
If you have how would you say they are different, I have a friend who is selling one, but I have to visit another state to check it out, haven’t gotten around to doing that just yet. My other option is a Ceriatone AH100 Deluxe, which is a very well made clone for 1700USD. Getting a real Friedman is out of my budget by a long shot; also the Ceriatone is hand built and turret construction.

The Mark V and this AH100 DLX will cost me the same money by the time I get the ceriatone imported.

Sorry, I’ve never played thru either of those.

Hey Troy and CTC Staff, thank you for highlighting this in your email! I appreciate it. :metal::guitar::notes:
