Do you notice a difference in pick attack on the higher strings vs the lower strings? You mentioned I’ve been able to do a upward string escape properly on the lower strings so trying to figure out how to do the same on the higher. I’ve also accepted though that even if I do a very slight pull off it’s not THAT big of a deal really.

And I’ve REALLY been working on down ward string escapes particularly going downhill so I appreciate you noticing 
I definitely want to be able to do both downhill and uphill phrases so I think the method I am currently using will be the best way for me to try (combo of mike stern style and Al Di)
