I hope you get good sounds out of it. I have tried the Helix, the Fractal Rack Axe-FX, the Eleven Rack, and the POD HD Pro X.
None of them sound as good as the POD X3. I am especially talking about the JCM-800 the way it is modeled in the X3. It sounds just utterly fantastic.
The only thing about comparing the models is that they’re constantly changing because of software updates; that said, I’m sure that the JCM-800 amp on the X3 was fantastic, but I wonder if they replaced it with a “better” model over time. I know my Axe FX3’s software is constantly changing, and each time on their forum, one hears, “wow, the new version is so AMAZING and better than the old one.” Is the improvement real? I don’t know, I just erase the old software each time and accept progress.
The JCM 800 in the Helix is not better than what I have in my X3. These expensive amp emulators are not better than emulators that are much cheaper.
