Finnish prog metal player searching for speed, reliability, flexibility and conviction in my playing. My journey began in 2000 when I first heard Dream Theater and Symphony X. There was no going back!

My ideal picking technique would be 1) reliable and easy to keep playing with, and 2) have great muting of unused strings, 3) great pick attack and tone production, and 4) the ability to play any number of notes per string while going fast.

My high level dream, my mission, is to be able to play the musical ideas I already have running in my mind. I have music to make, and the mechanical difficulties of playing my instrument will stand in my way no more.

I’m working on developing a picking technique and mindset that allows me to play without having to painstakingly “snipe” every note. That is, letting go of undue micromanagement, playing in a physically relaxed manner in both hands, and learning to truly utilize the combination of pick angle and picking motion to create a smooth playing feel.
