Hey guys I’ve been smashing 2wps for about 2/3 weeks now. Working on 6’s and stacked Gilberts.
Here is my progress

Wow it took you only 3 weeks? I should buy some of your genes!
Ive been smashing it every day tho mate
hey @Hanky_Pooh i know what you’re saying. Troy was telling m the same thing a week ago. Im a primary downward pick slanter (the first step is admitting it lol) and so because I’m starting these patterns on a down stroke i need to flip to uwps on the first, 3rd and 5th string changes (e to b, g to d and a to e) on the regular 6’s pattern and in the stacked gilberts descending lick again i start on a downstroke and so ned to flip to uwps on throughout the lick.
Im still confused why both you and @Troy don’t see these as twps phrases? Have i got something wrong with the terminology?
can you guys point me to an exercise/lick you consider a pure 2wps lick?
thanks amigos!
Seems like (as it was said already) this exercise doesn’t require 2WPS. The only odd-notes sequence here is first 3 notes. So, you can start it on upstroke (if you are a DWPicklanter) or downstroke (if you are an UWPickslanter) and stay in that position.
Simplest exercise that really requires 2WPS is a 3 note per string scale
Simplest conceptually, but probably one of the hardest things to exectute! It took me 2.5years with CtC knowledge to get scales to a decent level!
As Troy suggests in some of his lessons, it is much easier to start with patterns of 5 or 7 notes per string
That’s what I meant. I still can’t play scale with an apropriate speed ))
