A Bit Of VH on my 86 Kramer Baretta (Eruption and more)

I haven’t played any VH in a really long time so this is me winging it. I played for about 20 minutes and took some parts that didn’t sound too bad. When I was young player Eddie was the man! I would sit and listen to his albums and try to learn every phrase just like the record. I would tap my foot and see where every note fell in time with the beat. I would want it to be perfect, lol. I learned so much from Eddie. The way I play and feel music all comes from listen to his records. The way he played in between the cracks of the beat was huge for me and it is how I feel things in time still to this day. I didn’t have a flanger for the intro to the Atomic Punk. I also should have had my bar screwed in for the dive bombs in Eruption.

That’s given me a happy start to the morning.

Nice playing!
And a very beautiful guitar. I was looking for one also in white but couldn’t find one :pensive:
I ended up with a Barretta in flip flop pink. Incredible guitar anyway. You see it on my avatar.
treat it nicely, it’s a gem (pun intended). What head stock?

Wait, you should have warned us that you rip on electric as well!

I would have replied earlier but I was busy building coffee tables out of my guitars

Thank you so much, @Prlgmnr Prlgmnr.

Thank you so much @Tom0711! I have always loved Kramer guitars. This model is one of the transition models where they actually took the hockey stick headstock Barettas that they had is stock and cut them into the pointy headstocks to compete with Jackson Guitars. It is a great guitar and so much fun to play!

Hi, @tommo! Thank you so much! I have been playing electric since I started. About five years ago I started playing nylon string guitar and really enjoy it and I do solo gigs live. Plus I find it very expressive musically. But, last week I thought it would be fun to play bit of electric again. I forgot how nice it sounds to play the fast alternate picked lines with some gain, lol! I do play the same way on both as far as my mechanics go. Maybe in the future I will post something where I am doing a lot of the fast picking lines on the electric for fun.

I actually didn’t know about that! Shocking to hear, as I would love a reverse hockey stick headstock.

Yes! I love old Kramers!

Not sure if you got me right, I meant if yours looks “like this”.

Nice job there. EVH is such an important player to so many of us.

Yes, @Tom0711. My headstock looks just like yours.

Thank you, @NCASO! Yes, Eddie was so important. I listened to his albums and tried to learn it all when I was a young player. Him and Randy Rhoads were the big ones for me and then a couple of years later I heard Yngwie in Alcatrazz and he blew me away and had to try and learn his stuff next. A great era to be coming up as a player for sure!
