A guitar lesson from... Bob Ross?!

Hey, I hope you are all having a really great weekend! Sorry for the short, simple post - I know this post won’t be super deep or insightful. But I found something that helped me today, and I’m hoping it might help someone else too.

I have been working on two things this weekend: Michael Angelo’s solo in Freight Train and Giant Steps by John Coltrane.

I was watching Bob Ross on Twitch while I was playing the guitar. After 2 hours of forcing myself to alternate pick Giant Steps (even though I like the smoother sound of economy picking it), I heard this, and it resonated with me.

I know this is not a new thought. Everyone here will already know that it is ok to just do what you think sounds best sometimes But I just needed a little reminder of this today. Thanks, Bob!

Worth periodically reminding each other of this concept, because it is so easy to forget!

Plus I love to hear it with Bob’s soothing voice :grinning:
