Alternate picking on lower strings (with classical-eque guitar holding)

Hi guys,
I have only just recently stumbled upon cracking the code and the reverse dart thrower motion after playing with regular sort of thumb to pinky picking technique.
I am pulling my hair out trying to follow the picking course videos, and cannot for the life of me figure out how to make it apply to lower strings (8th to 5th string) without either

  1. Anchoring my hand higher than the bridge (first 15 seconds or so of the video)
  2. Twisting my hand into an uncomfortable position, in which I lose speed (last 15 seconds of the video).

I cannot quite figure out what I am doing wrong here, as I can super fast in position 1, but it seems nothing like the reverse dart thrower demonstrations in the videos.
Apologies for the offtiming, wasn’t playing with a metronome and made this in a bit of a rush, any feedback would be highly appreciated!
