Considering how this was a live performance, and you did it in one take… Well done!!! Seriously, that must have been nerve wracking.
But… again, since you asked…
Your alternate picking sounds pretty spot on. When you begin economy/sweep picking there are some timing issues that I hear. A lot of times, things are just rushed. Pretty common for us guitar players.
What are we always trying to play so damn fast?!
Overall I’d say you did well. Could it be tighter? Yes. Mainly in the sweeping parts. When you go into strict alternate picking it sounds like you are playing with more accuracy.

Hahahahaha, yeah I just hit record and played. I went back afterward and put the bass n better drums in.
When I run out of improvise ideas my licks start sounding same-y. Other than the chordal idea this was mostly improvised.

I agree, very well played especially if ‘live’.
I also find timing really hard with economy picking, which is why I tend to prefer alternate in most situation (even though it feels significantly slower and more tiring).
It (timing with sweeps/economy) is also a skill that seems to require constant maintenance, but I don’t know if this is because I haven’t baked the technique for long enough!
Any experienced economisers want to share their views / experiences?
