An Underrated Guitar Based Band

I saw Heart play a concert when they were touring for their “Bad Animals” album and it was one of the most enjoyable concerts I’ve attended. A lot of people are only familiar with their hits from the 1980s but they released some tremendous music in the 70s which had some truly creative and unique guitar playing. For those who aren;t familiar with the music they released in the 70s, the two albums I recommend most highly from them are “Little Queen” and their debut album “Dreamboat Annie.” Both Ann and Nancy Wilson sing and have beautiful voices. Nancy also plays guitar, usually acoustic guitar. To me their most stunning achievement is the part of the Little Queen album where they have two songs that blend into one another - Sylvan Song and Dream Of the Archer. These songs have acoustic guitar, mandolin, and I don’t know what else but the number of different pars and how beautifully they all blend together to create the sound they do is stunning!
