While cracking the code is primarily geared to pick playing. I was wondering if there were any classical guitarists on the forum. If so do you have any tips for someone trying to learn classical guitar.
Pick up the book Pumping Nylon by Scott Tennant, get a footstool, and a teacher. Classical has so many small touches that without an in person teacher I never would have gotten anywhere.
Best resource for classical guitar I have seen on the net: https://www.classicalguitardelcamp.com/
Take lessons, as was mentioned, technique is very specific.
Buy Principles of Correct Practice for Guitar, both the book and the DVD.
I think both a stool and a teacher are critical. In passing, a stool works really well for electric guitars as well…
Basically classical guitar is all figured out and there are established ways to teach it that result in great musicians. I also believe that this now holds (thanks to Troy) for the electric guitar as well, but we’ll see.
Not yet, but one day.
