Bark at the Moon Solo Mechanics

Hey! Very new here (first post) and trying to find my way.

My goal is to be able to play the bark at the moon solo by Ozzy/Jake E Lee.

In this solo towards the end, there are three palm muted runs. I tabbed this out based on Ben Eller’s YT video but struggling to figure out how to traverse the string changes using DSX or USX. Does anyone have any insight on this or tips?

Here’s a snippet from UG (pm the same)… Like, do I need to keep changing from DSX to USX here? How and when?

I taught this solo to a student of mine who is very much a USX picker, and I had him play the last note of each string that has five notes on it with a hammer-on. I believe Ben Eller suggests a similar approach in his video that breaks the solo down.

I think the difficult part here is the 4th,5th, and 6th note (at least to me). I would probably play the beginning as U D U D U D D with a switch between DSX and USX after the 4th note (making a sort of arc around the A string and hitting it with an upstroke). You could also probably do some sort of swiping (which I bet is what is on the recording), but I’m less familiar with what that entails.

Thanks for the replies… It sure is a tricky one. Still trying to figure out how to “chunk” it. DBX seems to not work here due to speed limits and doing a switch between DSX and USX so quickly for one note seems impossible… Unless I’m missing something…
