Best IR's for L6 Helix

Help a pal out, I have a couple of IR packs and they sound pretty good, but I am looking for the hive mind’s definitive one stop IR to give my Helix that special “essence”. Yes, I know that comes from the playing but, on that front I am accursed…

Thanks in advance, dudes!

Do you think that there is the perfect IR? Or is there a perfect “sound” for the moment, or perhaps, for a particular portion of a song?

Actually, you got me thinking: Can Guitar Pro send MIDI events to your Helix to change as you play your song? (Or your DAW could do it?) Now that would seem like the cat’s meow… kindly figure that out and I will copy you  (I have an Axe-FX3 and can’t exactly copy you, but it might work?)

Looking for the perfect one for me - something that makes my tones sound and feel as amp-like as possible when recorded. Sometimes out of consideration for the others in my home I just can’t crank up a Marshall and drop a mic and experiment with where it’s sitting lol

And yeah, I used to do patch changes with a Logic Track when playing to backtracks. Never tried guitar pro, but got Logic to work with a Marshall JMP1, a Marshall JVM, AxeFX2, Boss GT1000, L6 Pods and just today with my HelixLT and Boss Nextone Special. lol But I prefer to change my patches myself hahaha

Im not too sure about specific IRs, but have you tried adding some room ambience/reflections in the cab block? You could also try blending a room IR with a standard IR to make the sound have a bit more depth

Where I am at tonally with the Helix and the current IR; I am not too fussy - as long as it sounds like a guitar into an amp I am pretty happy - No worries, if it sounds bad that’s me! haha

That’s with this IR - “ML-Sound-Lab-Cab-Pack-MARS-PR-M75”

The only non-stock IR I have ever used on Helix was ML Sound Lab’s Best IR In The World. From what I remember, Bumblefoot uses the same IR in all his patches.

It does sound a bit spammy, but you can find it here - THE BEST IR IN THE WORLD! (free) | Fractal Audio Systems Forum

The link to the IR is here http://bit.ly/MLSoundLab

i’ve gotten vg results using my YJM with these

All some Choptones metal vol 1 and 2

Check out the community patches… you can audition them and what you don’t like … just discard… and they’re free… many of them stink… but there are some good ones in there.

Okay, cool - thanks so much - I downloaded it (the Best IR in The World) and experimented with it tonight on this recording; lemme know what you think - my stuff is weird AF and sounds ummm, clunky and sort of broken at the best of times but i had a blast making the tune up and the IR did ad a unique flavour to the overall sound I thought. Now I know that an IR isn’t a replacement for playing well, good imagination or sound musical abilities - but it does add an interesting tonal colour I think! I used Helix Native for the recording, into Logic. Thoughts?
