So I’ve been working on Blitzkrieg for several weeks using backing tracks and I find the intro scalar runs are very difficult to fit inside the time allotted, especially at full album speed of 140bpm. I assumed using my go-to wrist motion for ascending scalar passages was just not fast enough yet for these 3, 3 and 2 nps runs. But then, looking at this video from Young Guitar where he plays to a backing track at about 135bpm, it seems he’s using a finger motion for those passages. This technique has a dedicated chapter in the Volcano seminar that I only looked at briefly in my initial study. I wonder if this technique can be inherently faster than other motion mechanics for this special scenario.
