Recently watched this - it rips, so I wanted to drop it here. I had no idea Brandon Ellis could also song that well, it would be awesome if he started a classic metal band.

Makes you appreciate how much Glen Tipton continued to improve over the years with Priest as that solo still rips. Brandon rules!

Even though Brandon embellished the original solo considerably, your point still stands. Both Tipton and KK kept their eye on competition and tried to improve their chops. Even though they never got their chops squeaky clean, it’s crazy to think that the guys you hear on e.g. Painkiller or Ram It Down are the same guys playing on Sad Wings of Destiny and Sin After Sin.
