Hi all,
I have recently recorded a Jazz Manouche / ambient classical track called “Un Sicilien en Provence” under name L’Edword [for now] available on all platforms
it borrows from Manouche, Mediterranean styles and Flamenco, but is not purely one of them
- Al Di Meola [alternative picking]
- Django [thrills, spelling out chords, embellishments, string crossing arps]
- Holdsworth [vertical single string stuff but to me this is also Violin/Strings approach]
- Albeniz [use of open strings a la asturios]
-a limited nod to Wes Montgomery - single note solo followed by octave followed by chords
I would love to meet online and record content with anyone who is interested in
- interviewing me about the track, in general and in a deep technical way for both guitar style and musical approach
The production area I have to work in is visually amazing, we are talking 10’s of different guitars, high grade equipment
For this I have generated script ideas in English and French - helping with explainer videos - I have professional sheet music including the guitar tab
And obviously I would reciprocate
I think the track is interesting stylistically and combines a number of different picking approaches including use of open strings [for speed and effect], string crossing appregios and vertical arpeggios [as per string instruments]
Of course @Troy and co are more than welcome to do this, I think you would find it very interesting!
