This vid says it all! Troy pointed things out in the past but Marchbank kept posting heavily edited fake playing vids letting everybody believe it is real playing.
Now the truth is out with some serious proof that he indeed is mining to heavily edited audio.
To me it was obvious all the time (had a discussion about it with Marchbank in the past) but lots of people , even serious guitarplayers, still need a vid like this to see him being debunked.

Honestly, life is too short to care about this stuff. Iām more focused on making sure I donāt feel like a fraud.
Thank you. Iām done tracking and deep into my own personal mixing hell at the moment, so I havenāt shot any video in a while. Iāll try to do a few playthrough videos when itās done, though, and maybe as the mixes firm up a little I could share a rough mix or something in that thread Iād consilidated a couple videos within.

In my defense, when I heard that clip I only listened to it in passing and at that point I had no idea anyone would have different audio than what seemed to appear in their video. I was young and innocent then I guess.
But yeah. At this point over 40k people have seen my name. I never expected fame to hit me like this.
I guess itās the same as at the gym; if someone LOOKS like they are taking steroidsā¦ they are probably taking steroids. Does it affect us? Does it matter? Only if we let it. lol Iām sure Roy is a fine player, I donāt care - he can mime or not mime, honestly that level of shred isā¦ not my bag personally and Iām sure he has his own motivations for whatever he does. Live and let live hahaha neeeeextā¦
Quoting myself, even if it were legit, it still sounds awful to my taste.
What makes me sad is that new players might come across whatever that is and think of it as a valid reference.
I remember back in school when I got a laptop and Guitar Pro I used to have a folder called āImpossible s**tā where I just wrote in the most stupidly fast and physically impossible licks just to see what it would sound like. Maybe I should have been recording āplaythoughā videos of it all!
