Hello everyone!
I’m a big fan of this community. I follow guitarists like Michael Angelo Batio, Rusty Cooley, and many others. I also really love Troy Grady’s work—I think his lessons have been a huge help. :DD
The reason I’m posting is that I have what might be a suggestion, or maybe a “new way of picking” (or at least that’s what it seems like to me). I have no idea if Troy has already talked about something like this, haha, so I’d like to know if my picking method could actually help me achieve high speed or if I’m doing something wrong.
I’m not sure if I can explain it very well, so please don’t make fun of me.
I’m still a beginner. I’ll only be demonstrating my picking motion—I won’t be playing anything in particular. I just want to show how I’m doing it so you can tell me if it’s correct or point out anything I should improve.
Thanks in advance!
I know my downward pickslanting isn’t very good yet, but I’m working on improving it. I also know I’m doing it pretty slowly at the moment, but I mainly want to know if I’m practicing the technique correctly so I can build the right habits from the beginning.
If my idea or approach is incorrect, please let me know before I spend a lot of time practicing it. I’d really appreciate any feedback or corrections. Thank you!
