Crosspicking help

Hey all,

Haven’t posted in a while. Decided to take Troy’s advice and try and integrate crosspicking into all the music I’m playing and while it’s improved slightly, single string and “inside” string playing still feels awkward and not like something I can do fast. I’ve attached a video of me trying to messily play a crosspicking pattern, let me know what you guys think

What’s crosspicking again? Picking out arpeggios? Looks hard

As someone who has spent a long time trying to learn this technique I would say there is no easy way of doing cross picking arpeggios. It’s unnatural and inefficient which is why hardly anyone does it. However it does sound awesome and unique.

Steve Morse by far the most prolific at this technique, I would recommend learning the two separate parts of tumeni notes the first part on the top 3 strings and the second part on the low 3 strings.

Sounds like you’re playing it too fast, I’d be going half speed and making it so I didn’t need to look at the pick first then speed it up.
