Displacement for DSX

Hmmm I got to thinking after watching that bit on “displacement” that it might be fun to mess with… But it looks like it’s a “mostly” usx thing, and the mute is pretty crucial to it. Rusty Cooley gives an example in the video, but anyone else have any other ideas of how it might work for a pronated DSX player with a very light almost non-existent mute?

Well, let’s look at ascending sixes - I think you could use DSX displacement by turning into 4 pickstrokes on the lower string, 2 pickstrokes on the higher string, starting on the second repetition. The first go would have 3 pickstrokes on the lower string. Muting would primarily come from the fretting hand index finger.

I think you’ll need a lot of gain to make this work; mess with it and see what you get!
