Do 902 wrist pickers like Paul Gilbert avoid Floyd Rose trems?

After doing a fair bit of this style of picking and getting a nice flow going on my es 335, I dug my 98 Japanese Ibanez S series out of the closet. And It seems like my reference points on the instrument just are all out of whack. I know this isn’t that usual in itself, but it’s been a week and I’m running into the same few problems:

Wrist contact point pushing on the bridge and pulling things sharp.

Running into the volume knob.

The knife edge cutaway is also problematic for arm positioning.

I’ve read that Paul Gilbert avoids certain guitars, and I seem to be noticing a trend where wrist players avoid these bridge systems. Am I imagining things?

Check out Vogg from Decapitated for one counterexample. Dude looks almost pure 902 to me for lead lines, with the forearm assist for ascending inside changes:

Interesting. His hand contact point is much higher on the guitar than mine. I’ll mess around with that.
