Do you still have your first pick?

I was looking through my pick collection today and found the first picks that I used when I started playing guitar, which was around 1995 / 1996.

The first one I started using was a Dunlop .60mm nylon. It has seen better days, but I will also hold on to it. You can see that I chewed at it back then :joy:

The other one is this Dunlop .50mm Tortex. I played with this pick straight for about 5 years. I’m not sure what happened to it, but it’s kind of warped. It has nice wear on it.

I would be interested to see if anyone else still has their first pick.

I’ve got some OLD Fender mediums in a blue/turquoise material that looks a bit different from the newer material, that I would have bought back in the mid-late 90s, somewhere - I’ll see if I can find them. I also definitely have a few Dunlop Jazz Stubby 3.0s from when I was using those back in college in the 2000-2001 window, before the thickness and stiffness started causing joint problems for a guy who had a very blues-approved pick attack.

If I get a quiet night I’ll see what I can pull out from my pick box.

Yeah, it’s interesting how the formulations of the materials change over the years.

Speaking of Stubby picks - I still have some clear 1mm Stubby picks from the late 90s! I will see if I can dig one out.

Not my first picks, but I still have one red and one black Jazz III from when I was a teenager. The materials are noticeably different from the current production versions.
