Does Andy Wood's Crossingpicking Motion Also Apply to 3NPS?

I have been watching Troy’s “Crosspicking with the wrist” video, and as soon as I got to the tutorial part 58 minutes in, it started to click.

I am curious though - the video is about crosspicking and the subtitle mentions arpeggio playing, but is this motion the same way Andy would approach something like a 3NPS run?

Or is this a motion I should mostly be using with single string arpeggiated playing?

When Andy plays faster, his shallow U motion becomes a more diagonal dsx motion. Troy demonstrated the same thing playing a scale with dbx , but at faster speeds it turns more into mixed escape.
It makes sense, why make the extra motions to escape every pickstroke when it’s not necessary.

Ah I see, I’m glad I asked in that case. Do you happen to remember the video where he talks about the diagonal motion?
