So my techniques are fairly decent at usx and thumb index. Does anyone combine these two techniques when trying to do mixed escape phrasing? Basically using the thumb index for the musically descended inside string changes with a one way escape approach. And could also do this for ascended phrasing that has a one note per string occurance after string changing to an outside stroke with one note on a string, ala paul gilbert style lick, using thumb index as well.
This could also be done with dsx, but i havent seen too many dsx thumb index players. I think this might be a bit trickier as well because you have to flex in much further than doing it in usx, but it is possible. In dsx its more of an lowered index finger knuckle with thumb flexion, usx is thumb extension with raised index knuckle.
