I find myself instinctively doing the reverse of the volcano lick when descending. Down-up-up, down-up-up etc. Also similar to the DWPS scale movement down-up-down-down but up-down-up-up. Is this a UWPS version of volcano? Am I crazy? I’m trying to refine my picking technique and have started with DWPS and I find I like the attack it gives (it also follows Joe Pass’s advice to only change strings on downstrokes) and it is coming slowly but surely but sometimes I find myself doing this “reverse volcano” instead of using pulloffs to achieve proper DWPS technique.
