DWPS and muting - all or nothing?

Hi everyone. I made a quick video with some questions about DWPS and muting.

Question on DWPS and palm muting (for the CTC forum)

The main question is do you always automatically mute the strings with the palm when using DWPS and is there a way to mute the lower strings while having the higher strings ringing openly?
