Escape angle and how it (may) affect speed

when using a motion like usx or dsx you need a certain angle when doing the motion to get out of the strings and be able to play the next. for single string changes you can have a relatively steep angle while still doing the escape, but when you’re doing string skipping you’d either need a higher escape angle or a longer pick stroke to achieve the height needed to not crash into the lower or higher string. but what is more efficient, steep angle and long pick stroke or higher angle and shorter stroke?

I hope this does not sound like a lazy answer, but if you are able to try both options, I would go with whatever feels the most comfortable!
