Forearm motion with Upward pickslant/DSX possible?

While watching the Primer, i’ve discovered that my primary motion is mostly forearm with USX. However, I sometimes also have an Upward slant motion with DSX on descending phrases.

From what I can tell, there isn’t any noticeable elbow movement in this DSX mode, but I can’t tell whether I’m using wrist or forearm. Is forearm DSX even a thing?

The only thing I’m certain about is that there is a little bit of finger motion going on, but again no discernible wrist of forearm movement. It definitely feels similar to my USX motion, which is forearm, but again no obvious signs. Thanks!

Can you post a clip of your playing showing the forearm wrist mechanic and also your upward slant motion? It may be possible to do forearm wrist dsx, but I’ve not seen it covered here, yet!

You see it in Paul Gilbert who uses a lot of wrist and forearm rotation but is primarily DSX. I think I do the same thing too, but honestly haven’t really conclusively looked into it.
