aliendough’s post on “what are you learning now” got me to thinking. I find myself very often trying to figure out orchestra scores, but it is really difficult. to begin with, I have a horrible ear when it comes to trying to transcribe any music, but orchestral is particularly difficult.
There seem to be some great payware software out there, but I’m not looking to transcribe a whole symphony. I am looking for something free where I can take an audio file (.wav or mp3 whatever) play those one of two notes (maybe looping?) that I am having trouble with and figure out what notes they are.
Is there any free software out there that does this? btw, I don’t have a smartphone so apps are out of the question unfortunately.
