Great example of unconscious understanding . .

So this isn’t exactly off-topic but that’s the closest category I could find. (strictly speaking this is about bicycles, but bear with me.) A couple of months ago I bought a Strat and eventually got to thinking about my long-ago fascination with Yngwie’s playing. A quick Google search led me to Troy’s article on Yngwie and my first thought was “no way is YJ doing that.” Found Episode 9 and clicked through it, thinking “there’s no way this guy can actually play that stuff.” At the 3:45 mark my jaw dropped and I echoed Mr. Grady’s sentiment, “Holy S***!” All those hours, I just never realized my approach was never going to work.

But then I recalled this Varitasium video about bike-riding that illustrates how you can do something, even at a very high skill-level, without knowing what you’re doing. The explanation is at the two-minute mark, hopefully someone will get a kick out of this:
