Greetings Everyone!

Hello Everyone - My name is Greg and I’ve been a dedicated hobbyist guitar player for 25 years (although my chops plateaued about 24 years ago!). I discovered Troy’s work about ten years ago, and back then I even emailed with him a little bit about my frustrations with the Albert Lee and Yngwie instructional videos (he kindly replied). So I’ve been very pleased with all this great new Cracking the Code content - and specifically the seminars and interview analyses. It’s been really liberating to learn some sort of framework to guide my picking hand, when previously I had none.

In terms of my own technique, I’ve been interested primarily in developing my DWPS chops, but have dabbled in UWPS, 2WPS, and crosspicking. But I’m especially interested in learning how to problem-solve when a mostly DWPS passage confronts a tricky section that breaks the system (e.g., consecutive one-note-per-string phrases). I’m happy to be here in this forum and look forward to learning more about this fascinating area of guitar technique!

Re: the following—

Feel free to post this as its own new forum topic perhaps in the “playing technique” category, with more detail and specific examples if you like - would be cool to see what perspectives others have on this…That’s what the forum’s here for!
