Hand and wrist joints - demystified!

Could someone explain which joints are the IP, MP, and CMC joints? Thanks.

Going outwards from wrist to fingertips—

CMC = Carpometacarpal: wrist joints, responsible for flexion / extension of the palm

MP, or MCP = Metacarpophalangeal: next up, the joints at the base of the fingers (biggest knuckles)

IP = Interphalangeal: the other finger joints (smaller knuckles; two in each finger except for the thumb which has just one)
