I’m a DSX player and most of the Masters of Mechanics interviews are USX players.
I’ve always believed one day we’ll get a Paul Gilbert or Jeff Loomis MoM since the very beginnings of CoC. A decade later and it doesn’t seem like it’s happening - Paul especially is only getting older and who knows if his mechanics will even be what they were back in the early 2000s. Is there a reason for this? Do they refuse to have their technique dissected? Have they been offered the opportunity?
Paul seems to be extremely prolific with this sort of thing and recently did a long interview with Rick Beato so I’m not sure what the issue could be.
Troy doesn’t owe us anything specific here but I’m mainly just curious what the barriers to having these two guys in the studio are, and how we can help if there is an issue. It would be absolutely amazing to see a surgical dissection of Paul’s technique so we can FINALLY answer some of these questions that have been around since the 1980s (e.g. does he always swipe on the “Gilbert lick”, does he DBX it etc.)
