Hi, I’m Bill, from CNY, and glad to be coming aboard. I was an original gumroad subscriber, and am revisiting this again. I’ve been playing for over 40 years, and I’d consider myself to be stuck between old age, string hopping, but able to fake it kinda well when I was much younger… lol
I’ve noticed a significant decline in my abilities as I’ve gotten older, in spite of still playing all the time, and I think much of it is due to just not being able to brute force things physically, anymore. Doing that ends up with shoulder and arm discomfort, sometimes to painful extent. I spend all day keyboard and mousing, and it’s bizarre that I cannot seem to play anywhere near what I could, thirty years ago. I did go through the pick slanting primer about six years ago, and it helped, but I still felt as if I was not in solid control, etc, and it drives me crazy, so I’m coming back in earnest to try it again. If I warm up enough, I can find that place at times, but it’s just not consistent; baffling, really. I think the added material since then could be very helpful. I’m hoping so, anyway lol.
Looking forward to the journey. Thanks.
