Hi my name is Calvin and I am from Washington state. I have been a subscriber to masters in mechanics for over a year now. My favorite guitar player is Paul Gilbert and my favorite song is Scarified. I have physical copies of almost all Paul’s instructional DVDs and I have watched them in slow motion many times in VLC. I have also transcribed a fair number of Paul’s solos by slowing them down in Audacity. I don’t have the greatest ear in the world, but if I work hard I can figure out the licks in the solos. Cracking the Code has been so helpful to my guitar playing. The thing I want to improve most in my playing is my alternate picking technique. I have a video of me playing a couple alternate picking licks that I hope to share in the Technique Critique forum section. I am hoping to post it tomorrow or perhaps in a couple days.
