Hello! I am ready to learn as much as I possibly can

Hello! My name is Skyler, I have been keeping up with cracking the code for quite a while now and have played guitar for about 5 years. I was always focused on my left hand technique and thought that it was the source of all of my speed problems. Then I heard Troy describe it as an accuracy problem with the right hand and my mind blew apart. I really want to work on my right hand technique and finally marrying the two hands together. I have trouble using them both at their maximum speeds together. i.e fast legato or medium speed picking. It is difficult for me to play fast passage with them together. I often feel like the accuracy in my right hand is just too much brute effort and not clean or accurate at all. Any advice that anyone has I will happily take into account. I want to start at the beginning of picking again. I’m trying to learn economy picking, but have trouble in the timing from one string to the next. It always feels too rushed. I am here to learn!

Hey @Sguitar, welcome, great to have you here!

If there’s a specific technical hurdle you’d like some advice / feedback on, the best place to start I’d say would be to check out our #technique-critique category — we encourage you to post a video of your playing along with some detail about what you feel stuck on, and we can see if anyone might be able to help!

Of course, feel free to browse around and post to any of the other categories as well. Lots of good stuff here already and, like you, lots of folks here eager to learn

Look forward to seeing you around the forum. And if there’s anything else we can help with just let us know.
