Hello, Just a Quick Introduction

Hi everyone,

I’ve been following CTC for a few years now, decided to join the forum and get involved.

I started playing in 1980 when I was 14. Been gigging, recording and teaching guitar for many years. Played the Long Island club circuit starting in the 80’s. Also attended Five Towns College as a music major in the late 80’s. My main influences are EVH, Randy Rhoads, George Lynch and Paul Gilbert. Of course that’s just the short list.

I love so many of the great rock players it’s impossible to list them all, but everyone from Schon to Macalpine, Michael Schenker and then some…lol…

I’ve been fortunate enough to study with some great players. I was a student of Al Pitrelli (TSO, Alice Cooper, Megadeth, Asia) for many years, and also studied with John Petrucci for about a year or so when he was giving lessons out of his parent’s house in the late 80’s. I’m originally from New York, grew up on Long Island, the stomping grounds of Vai and Joe Satch, among others. I live in Michigan now.

When I came across CTC I was blown away because I had a very similar experience to Troy, who lived just a few towns over from me, though he’s a
bit younger than I am.

I marathoned all the episodes and have been following ever since. The level of examination and detail is astounding, and it’s hands down the best resource I’ve ever seen on high level rock guitar technique.

Anyway, looking forward to some great discussions here on my favorite subject. I’ve included a short clip I shot a while ago of some of my typical scale patterns and speed picking practice. Nice to meet you all!
