Especially those of you who teach and/or gig… Thinking back to your first few years on guitar, how much of your time would you say you spent on “technique” (as opposed to noodling, learning songs, playing songs and so on)?
[It comes as a big surprise for me to learn - just because of the linear, academic kind of person I am - that a lot of guys during their peak development seem not to have spent more than a quarter of their time, if that, on technique. At least, that’s my rough impression, which I’m testing with this question…]
