Hybrid picking - The finger of dooooom!

Ahhh yes, so in my form (dsx) I am “trapped” just after the upstroke then? And then on the downstroke it escapes. I guess the only way to get un-trapped is to either escape or sweep then? lol Or hop!

haha I "think I understand Swybrid, but then I encounter a hiccup… all good. I know I will get something to work… eventually… :grinning:

Aside from the CTC interview, watch a bunch of Marshall’s YouTube videos and take note of the way he often holds the guitar. In my opinion, he keeps it pretty high and tight, often with his right hand picking by the neck pickup. Nothing but respect for Marshall, and I’ve been working on my own “getting high with SWY” but I’d be curious to see how well it holds up if he were to play standing with a little bit more slack in the guitar. Let me clarify and say that I don’t think it’d completely fall apart or anything, maybe just a bit slower or a bit less efficient, but could be totally wrong.

Edit: see this most recent video of Marshall. Personally I think the way he sits, holds and plays his guitar helps with his style but I could be dead wrong. Worth discussing
