I have a fast tremolo with good USX but i am unable to change strings fluidly

How can i get at least close to my max tremolo speeds in between the string changes? Like even 50-75%

its not a sync problem, even if i barre the 2 strings i still am unable to change from one to the other string fluidly

I think i might have a decent escape in my tremolo after training the USX and wrist-forearm motions. But when it comes to changing the strings even if it’s only set of 2- it just doesn’t seem to work.

Can you post some video examples?

Sure, i just uploaded to youtube

Heres the link:

Ill also record some string changing clips and 2 or 4 notes per string examples soon

I don’t think this motion is USX, or not yet, at least: it looks more trapped. The pick is also slipping in your grip so that you end up with pretty significant negative pick point as you continue to play (the tip of the pick is moving in the direction away from your thumbnail/towards your wrist).

One of the things you might experiment with is eliminating one of your contact points to see if it helps make an escape more pronounced, whether that be DSX or USX. Right now you have your pinky anchoring on the guitar, but also the thumb muscle, and I think this would limit escape potential. As an experiment, try losing the pinky support, just by letting your hand go into a more relaxed shape, like a very loose fist. You can also try supinating your forearm a little to lose the thumb muscle support while keeping the pinky. See if either of these alterations do anything positive.

This! The thumb parallel to the strings is not going to result in a USX motion, at least not without some forearm motion mixed in.

I concur with the other posters here. You’ve got a downward pickslant but your motion may actually be double trapped, no escape.

Thanks for the reply, i am trying to experiment with letting go of the thumb anchor, so far it feels somewhat unnatural and i am unable to access a fast tremolo. Currently when i do the supernate arm position- i feel like im picking every note seprately rather than a smooth tremolo thing.

Also you mentioned about pick-slipping, it is something i didn’t observe before. But yes im noticing that i do get pick slipping issue alot- to the point where it almost changes into a totally negative grip angle, so this is something ill try to work on as well. (would really appreciate any tips to implement)

Im gonna film some more closeup playing, doing repeating pattern licks so its easier to determine what the issue might be.

Thanks

Why not doubling down on it and trying a little pronation? Lift your fingers off the body while keeping your thumb anchor and see what happens.
