To long didn’t read version
Just scroll to end for the question.
So i stumbled onto this a while back and went to work on it because i could feel right away it was a valid way to get some speed and travel freely through 2nps pentatonic positions.
In the picture you will see the main mechanic with hammers pulls and my pick pattern. I use an escape on the completion of the 6th note so my pick is up n free to start over.
Then its just eco picked
Then I go onto demonstrate how it moves up, down and diagonal freely through the pentatonic scales.
You can think triplets, sextuplets? Or just a group of 6.
I love to ascend alternating between
Triplet feel and a group of 6,s
Then turn it around with 4,s and descend. But with 4,s the mechanic changes.
This works with any two nps scales, arps.
It took a bit to get the timing smooth and even but I got it by slowing down and using full on rest strokes.
As I speed up Im not sure I fully rest but its close for sure.
This is a great little tool for darting around. I also worked out other sequences but this one is my starting point.
If anyone can use this you are welcome to it. Just remember to mix it up rhythmically or you will get boring fast
Now my question.
What I need is something like this but for 3nps mode shapes.
Just a tried and true way I can travel up, down and horizontally through string sets.
Rhythmically I don’t care really.
I think this will work if I can figure out how to descend with it.
But if you have a favorite Im definitely
Interested.
