I would be remiss not to thank CTC

I’m not exactly a shredder, meaning, I didn’t really come here to imitate Yngwie, etc. I just wanted to be able to play old school death metal and thrash consistently. I still have a while to go but, because of Troy and this forum, I started DWPS, NOT to get from string from string without getting tripped up, but just to see how it feels when I tremelo pick even on one string. In this video I am able to play these Morbid Angel riffs pretty efficiently and most importantly, CONSISTENTLY using DWPS. Before coming to this forum, my efficiency in being able to play these riffs varied wildly making recording nearly impossible.

I still have to learn how to mute other strings from ringing out with my fretting hand, that’s why in this video I am only playing on the 6th string (when tremelo picking)

Still haven’t figured out how to do this smoothly with palm muting, but I’ll figure it out eventually!

thank you Troy and CTC.

Nice job, I’m a huge fan of OSDM, speed metal, and black metal. Your picking hand looks great, relaxed and consistent.

thanks, wish I could post the proper way on putting a YT video up here but it isn’t working for me…

I think you just paste the link into the textbox and whatever code they have written autoembeds it.

yeah, tried that it didn’t work. That’s ok, as long as the moderators are ok with it.

Thanks for posting! Fixed the YouTube link — it just has to be the link by itself, as a new paragraph (blank lines before / after)
