Ihsahn needs no introduction, one of the biggest musical geniuses to ever come out of extreme metal.

Most of this was written when he was 16/17 which is absolutely insane.

I used to work third shift retail stocking around the time I got into extreme metal, listening to this in headphones at like 1 or 2am it just hit different. Feels like marching through a darkened fjord as the legions of darkness fight the viking hordes.

As a big fan of melodeath, that is one of the most impressive things about the scene, that so many of those bands put out records with such highly developed senses of melody and composition at such young ages.
