Hey guys and Gals,
Just getting started here. A little about myself …Grew up on Long Island in the 80’s and been plinkin around on the guitar since then gave up in the 90’s cuz I couldnt play fast enough to learn what I wanted to play. Picked it up again in the last few years. Now I can play rhythm fairly well, but I tend to give up when I get to a solo and hit a brick wall. I use speed trainers when I practice but then I get to a point where I cant maintain picking and fretting coordination. I’ve never really analyzed my playing until now. I did take lessons when I was younger, but working always got in the way unfortunately… So now at 53 I can afford the gear I want and Im kinda learning from places like youtube, Truefire, ect. ect.
I’ve always been into 80’s hairbands, Metal, And Country (chickin Pickin is phenomenal stuff), also Bluegrass flatpicking.
I came across Troy Gradys videos on YouTube and it caught my attention, seems like we came from the same era and grew up in the same area (That caught my attention)and I watched his “Cracking The Code” videos . So I found This place. Hopefully it helps. Maybe someone here can give me a little mentoring to go along with all these great videos. and possibly make some new friends.
