2 year intermediate here. I take online lessons and I’ve got all my major scales down at 8th note speeds and can improvize lines up and down the neck in all forms.
When I moved recently into 16th note phrasing I uncovered a huge problem. I had unknowingly learned and ingrained economy picking. Trying to strict alternate at any speed past 100 is essentially impossible.
I’ve noticed that I tend to favor starting on a down stroke, even notes on lines mean ending up an up and then starting the next line with a down and then everything is fine.
Odd note lines and particularly descending the neck and the wheels fall off.
Hoping to get through all the material in the primer and get on the road to fixing my technique!
