Comon @Troy
I see a link to a video.
- Why is it here?
- What am I—or others—supposed to get from it?
@kgk man he plays so well, I would love to see a CTC vid on him.
He has got a really cool picking techniqe, and he is able to pull off van halen songs very, very well.
There is also something about his natrual techniqe that flows, something CTC can explore.
very good player. really has a great attitude for playing early EVH stuff. Not many guys can pull that off.
impressive.
This is so good I almost thought it was a playthrough. Then I remembered he plays some unaccompanied stuff in the beginning. Plus we hear the guitar equally in both speakers and Eddie was panned hard left in those old day. Joshua is pretty scary. I also love the “rockstar” quality he has and just the sheer enjoyment of playing you can see. Eddie had that too. Some guitarists look angry when they play lol! Eddie always looked like he was “standing on top of the world” whenever he played anything.
Wow, he even gets the “EVH swing” pretty much 100% right! That’s no small feat.
An the attitude is there!
PS: RDT
Josh is a friend and a great player. He is incapable of playing anything like anyone else. And I mean that as the highest compliment. He is blessed with being himself and being young…and thus influenced by Edward and Rhoads and other classic rock greats AND the newer generation of pure shredders.
I love his ridiculous, over-the-top and not at all subtle vibrato which is wider and crazier than even Zakk Wylde. There’s an almost total lack of blues feel in any of his playing…and as a blues fan, I love that! Joshua is himself and that is something that so many struggle to be. He is great and a really thoughtful person and yes, even as outrageous as he is as a player, he’s a humble person. His parents raised him right. I love that kid.
